ABOUT

Born in Guatemala and raised in the humid dirty south known as New Orleans, I began drumming in the summer of 2004.  It wasn't long before I began exploring the history, styles, and techniques of drumming which quickly sparked my obsession with the instrument.  I advanced my own personal studies by attending the music program at the University of New Orleans and the intensive drum study program at The Drummer's Collective in NYC.  I've been blessed to have much experience in almost every aspect a performing musician can attain.  From studio work to touring and playing festivals, mainstages, churches, restaurants, and private events, I'm always in search of new performing opportunities in which I can showcase what I enjoy doing most.  I'm currently active in posting creative drumming videos on Instagram via @thedrumjournal.  Feel free to take a look!

Lessons

I have been teaching drum set for the past 7 years and have a bachelor's degree in music from the University of New Orleans.  I also attended The Drummer's Collective in New York City for their intensive study program during the summer of 2014.  Along with my formal studies, I have also had world-renown private teachers over the years that have progressively advanced my drumming (Troy Davis, Vince Cherico, Jason Gianni, Peter Retzlaff, Roger Kennedy).  I have had the opportunity to play with some amazing musicians including John Fohl (Dr. John), Larry Foyen (Ray Charles), John Doheny (Michael Buble, The Temptations), Eric Weaver (12 Stones), and more.  Stylistically I mostly enjoy playing and teaching Jazz, Rock, Latin, and Blues.

I truly enjoy teaching students of all ages, and cater the private lesson to the needs of each individual person.  Whether you are just starting out or have been playing for years, there's always something new to learn towards the art of drumming.  Private lessons are $75/hour.  If you are interested in taking lessons in your home the price is $85 per hour lesson.   Click the contact tab of this website for scheduling and additional info!
